Scott Miller brings over 25 years of medical device and life science leadership experience to his role as Chief Executive Officer of GI Scientific, LLC.  He has led the company through multiple FDA approvals, the creation and granting of 70+ patents, the initial commercial experience of multiple transforming products, successful capital raises, and other value key creation activities.

Scott also serves as a Partner at Eastmont Partners, LLC, an investment and management consulting firm focused on healthcare and other technology markets.  Eastmont has advised multiple top-tier private equity and venture capital firms with their healthcare investments, as well as top-tier health systems in the areas of innovation, investment and operational improvement.

Prior to founding GI Scientific and Eastmont, he co-led the corporate development and white space strategy teams at Covidien PLC, now Medtronic PLC.  Before Covidien, he worked in the strategy and corporate development group at Edwards Lifesciences, and before Edwards, he practiced law at the international law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP.  Prior to practicing law, he served as the acting Chief Financial Officer for H-3 Systems, an Apple Computer-backed networking software company, and he began his career with Weyerhaeuser Company’s corporate venture capital unit.

Scott holds a M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, a J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.

Susan DiBenedetto brings over 25 years of endoscopy leadership experience to her sales and marketing responsibilities for GI Scientific.  Her previous experience includes senior sales and marketing roles at FujiFilm Medical and Pentax, where she was engaged in new product development and sales and marketing efforts that led to significant new product launches and market share improvements. 

Susan has also advised multiple emerging companies in the endoscopy spaces with successful new product launches. She is responsible for sales, marketing, business development and certain innovation-related activities at GI Scientific.

Susan holds a bachelor’s degree from Emmanuel College.

Frank Carter brings over 25 years of endoscopy senior management experience to his position as GI Scientific’s Chief Operating Officer. Frank is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations, including product development, manufacturing and quality systems management.

Previously, Frank served as CEO of GI Supply, where he led the introduction of multiple successful new product offerings across the GI endoscopy space.  GI Supply was subsequently acquired by Laborie Medical Technologies Inc and Signet Healthcare Partners.

Earlier, Frank developed GI endoscopy devices as Vice President of Wiltek Medical.

Frank holds a MBA and bachelor’s degrees from Wake Forest University.

Michele Lucey brings over 35 years of experience in the medical device industry, with particular expertise in pre-clinical development, regulatory affairs, clinical trial management, quality compliance, and new technology reimbursement.

She also serves as the President of Lakeshore Medical Device Consulting focusing on medical device companies in various stages of development and commercial activity.  Her experience and regulatory expertise includes all classes of medical devices, including class III implants, across U.S. and international regulatory bodies.  Her experience includes Vice President of Regulatory and Clinical Affairs for Applied Spine Technologies where her responsibilities also included serving as the sponsor study director for an international IDE clinical trial for a novel implantable spine dynamic stabilization device.

Michele spent 14 years as Director of Corporate Quality Control at US Surgical Corporation (now part of Covidien/Medtronic) where she was directly involved in the development and commercialization of hundreds of medical devices including wound closure products and laparoscopic instruments. Michele received her B.S. degree in biology and chemistry from Western Connecticut State University. She is a member of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.
